that put all their marbles on a kicker. Statistically, a good kicker is 90%, most are 80%, the number's are lower the further out you go, and I imagine it is even lower with the game on the line. The turnover to total play ratio is much higher. Coach's worry about the offense not turning the ball over when they should worry about whether or not their kicker will cost them their job.

Herm Edwards, you should have learned your lesson last week from Shitonheimer. Gain another 10 to 15 yards and take the pressure off your kicker if you are going to be a *****.

Have a nice trip back to New York, I'm sure their will be a mob of fans waiting for you.

bro...i couldn`t agree more...particularly after the first miss......you are on the road....as a substantial dog.....after they get to the 30,it seemed like "run it up the gutfor a few more yards and pray".....that kind of conservatism will usually get you beat.....you get the ball twice at the end of regulation....in squeeler territory......and you basically give up at their 30 yard line.....

i don`t get it...

and that pennington snap with 6 seconds left....what was that?....they didn`t move the ball to the center...they just lost a yard.....

it`s ashamed ....i feel bad for the jet defense.....i hope the n.y. media crucifies edwards....

lord, the steelers are lucky......and roethlisberger isn`t the key...it`s the running game... roethlisberger is trent dilfer from the ravens superbowl run...

Sphinx...I total agree on Big Ben, although I saw him look pretty good in earlier games, the offense really is designed for him to just not make mistakes, like he did in overtime. But who cares! Give me a Trent Dilfer and a superbowl ring any day over a 20-year career of Dan Marino.

As for these coaches, At least get the ball in the red zone before you decide to kick it, a la Pittsburg. NYJ could have easily run a safety screen, even another run play off tackle to Curtis Martin and gained another five yards or more. There is a better chance your kicker will miss than your offense will turn the ball over. I just don't know how you can face your team, offense and defense, who have played over 50 downs each, after putting everything on the line with your kicker, who has played in what, 3 or 4 plays all game.

And one more thing, Pittsburg's kicker would have missed that kick from another five yards out. That ball was heading right fast.

Boy are the local radio shows here in New York going to have a field day on Herm and Hackett tomorrow. Hackett has to go and Herm has to take the heat as well . One minute left with three timeouts and they play for a long field goal. This team has been a comedy of errors in the last minute of games the last two years.

Cowher did the same thing on 3rd down in the Pitt game. Running up the gut on 3rd down? What if there were a bad snap on the kick? You're f'd!

when you're on the road you should keep pounding the ball and try to get into the endzone.

when you're at home you kick the FG. Unfortunately, Herm has it all backwards. What a terrible loss for J-E-T-S fans. They should of won that one.
